RTF FM 5-22.4: KIA’s

General Description:

Stands for "Killed In Action". This is when someone assassinates you, then takes a screenshot of it and posts it to their fileshare or on Halo Waypoint. When that happens, you lose your position and standing/rank in your clan. Clans don't generally take in KIA’d people, due to the fact that it will be known, and be seen as an embarrassment to the clan, making them seem unskilled and useless. You can only be KIA’d if you are in uniform (using your clan colors and emblem). This does not mean "run around out of uniform," as that would be unprofessional. If you are KIA’d, there must also be a reason for doing it, or else it will be considered a false KIA.

KIA Locations:

You can only declare KIA’s in:

  • Meetings

  • Clan raids

  •  Clan training

  • Unprofessional 1v1s

However, training is based on the leader of the training and could be in a non-standard form (such as a party game or team game). You cannot score a KIA in a team-based match!!

You cannot declare a KIA during the following:

  • Party games

  • Matchmaking

  • Assassinations

  • Matches where KIA’ing is strictly prohibited

By submitting a false KIA to your fileshare/ Halo Waypoint, you are not only hurting yourself and your clan, but the Halo 4 community as well.

KIA Conditions:

  • You can only be KIA’d if you are wearing your clan colors. It is a common professionality to be in your clan colors during clan meetings or training, and deemed unprofessional otherwise (unless explicitly ordered not to wear your clan colors).

  • If you KIA someone, always keep the full film to validate the KIA or that could lead to the KIA being considered false even if it was real.

  • KIA’ing someone after you yourself have been KIA’d is considered false and unprofessional, as you are already considered “dead” to the Halo Community.

  • Mercs, Freelancers, and Headhunters do not need to be in uniform to declare a, or be considered KIA, as they are hired by others to do work and generally don't have uniforms.

    • If you are not a part of a clan, then rules of uniform do not belong to you as you should not have a uniform or emblem code to follow.

  • Should you be KIA’d (whether as a clan member or leader):

    • You cannot get revenge for yourself.

    • You may not remain in any clan or community until your KIA is avenged.

    • You may not KIA anyone until your KIA is avenged. Any attempts will be considered false KIA's.

  • Changing your gamertag to undo your KIA is forbidden, and usually looked down upon in the Halo Community.

  • The only way to undo your KIA is for someone to KIA the person who KIA’d you, (this is known as avenging a KIA), posting it to their fileshare or Halo Waypoint, and putting in the description that you were avenged.

Scenarios for Clan Leaders:

If you are a clan leader and have been KIA’d:

  • Your clan will be passed down to your 2nd in command, 3rd if they are assassinated, Vice-President, Cofounder, etc. (the title depends on the type of clan)

    • If all clan leadership has been KIA’d, then ownership of the clan is turned over to the assassinator of the leader.

    • In order to regain your clan, your KIA must first be avenged. Then you must then KIA the leader of the clan that KIA’d you. This is different for a Merc, Headhunter, or Freelancer as they do not have clans of their own.

THIS ORDINANCE HAS BEEN PUT INTO CIRCULATION EFFECTIVE 06 DEC 17 BY THE RAZOR TAILED FOXES, WITH A WITNESS UNDERSIGNED AND DATED ACCORDINGLY. FOR QUESTIONS, EDITS, OR CONCERNS CONTACT THE CLAN LEADER.
